Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is inviting guests aboard the Balmoral to enjoy a sweet treat while supporting a meaningful local cause this summer.
The cruise line has announced a new onboard fundraising initiative in support of St Oswald's Hospice, coinciding with the Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne public art trail taking place across Newcastle and North Tyneside.
Throughout the campaign, every penny raised from the sale of three specially created sundaes on board Balmoral will be donated directly to the hospice, which provides specialist care and support for adults, children, and families across North East England.
Guests can choose from three limited-edition desserts inspired by the summer season:
- Balmoral Berry Bliss Sundae – featuring raspberry jelly, fresh strawberries, clotted cream ice cream, and chocolate sauce.
- Tropical Island Escape Sundae – made with coconut ice cream, banana, marinated pineapple, toasted coconut, caramel sauce, and a chocolate bunny ear.
- Peaches & Dreams Sundae – combining peach and mango ice cream with raspberry sauce, crisp meringue, and a raspberry swirl.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines said the initiative reflects its long-standing relationship with the Port of Tyne and its commitment to supporting the local communities connected to its sailings.
By turning a simple dessert into a charitable donation, the cruise line hopes guests can enjoy a memorable onboard experience while contributing to the vital work carried out by St Oswald's Hospice, helping provide care for people and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
The campaign will run during the summer season aboard Balmoral, giving passengers an easy way to support a local charity while enjoying their cruise.
