A Filipino crew member was seriously injured after falling several meters while working aboard a cruise ship anchored off the Greek island of Spetses, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred on Friday aboard a Maltese-flagged cruise ship, where the 43-year-old crew member, serving as a helmsman, reportedly lost his balance and fell from a height of approximately three meters.

According to a report by Argolida Planet, the fall resulted in head and spinal injuries, prompting an immediate emergency response from the ship's crew and local authorities.

The injured seafarer received first aid onboard before being transported safely to the port facilities at Kosta, Argolida. An ambulance from Greece's National Emergency Center (EKAB) then transferred him to the General Hospital of Nafplio, where he underwent medical examinations and was admitted for further treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the workplace accident remain under investigation by the Spetses Port Authority, which has launched a preliminary inquiry into the incident.
