MSC Cruise Director Gene Young Passes Away Unexpectedly in Miami

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of losing yet another dear friend who departed way too soon. Gene Moimoi Young was a cruise director on many MSC Cruises ships, but most of all, he was an outstanding person full of positive energy that he spread among all he met. His passing is something that we are struggling to come to terms with. He passed away unexpectedly in Miami, Florida.

On Friday afternoon, a cruise ship at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil broke away from its moorings and went adrift. MSC Musica was moored at Pier Mauá when an exceptionally powerful wind caused the ship's lines to part and she drifted away from her moorings. The ship quickly restored the mooring lines with the help of a tugboat. Luckily no damages or injuries have been reported.

Due to engine problems, the itinerary of MSC Cruises' new ship MSC Seascape has been altered less than two months after its debut. 

The ship's original itinerary for is a seven-night Western Caribbean voyage from Miami with calls at Ocean Cay, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios. But now one of those ports-of-call has been canceled.

Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. and MSC Cruises signed a deal for a multi-year marketing partnership, making MSC Cruises the official cruise partner of the New York Knicks. The partnership will provide MSC Cruises with significant brand promotion during all Knicks games at The Garden, including LED signage and virtual on-court signage.
