Construction of Four Seasons II has reached an important milestone with the laying of the ship’s keel at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard in Italy.

The ceremony formally marked the beginning of the ultra-luxury vessel’s construction inside the dry dock. Representatives from Fincantieri and Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, the joint owner and operator of Four Seasons Yachts, attended the event.

Following maritime tradition, a commemorative coin was welded into the hull as a symbol of good luck and protection for the vessel, its future guests and crew.

Four Seasons II will measure approximately 34,000 gross tons and 207 meters in length. Despite its size, the ship will accommodate only 180 guests across 79 suites, creating an unusually high amount of space per passenger.

The vessel will feature residential-style accommodations, large private terraces and open-air spaces designed to connect guests with the sea. The company is also promising advanced environmental technologies as part of the ship’s design.

Four Seasons II is scheduled to enter service in early 2028. She will become the second ship in the Four Seasons Yachts fleet, following Four Seasons I, which began sailing in 2026.

Fincantieri is also scheduled to construct a third vessel for the company. That ship is expected to be delivered in 2031 and will follow the same all-suite, residential-style concept.

The expansion is part of a wider move by luxury hotel groups into the cruise and yacht market. Four Seasons is positioning its vessels between traditional luxury cruising and private yachting, with fewer guests, large suites and a nearly one-to-one guest-to-crew ratio.
