Carnival Cruise Line has promoted Jacopo De Michelis from Staff Captain to Captain after a career spanning 14 ships in the company’s fleet.

Carnival President Christine Duffy attended the occasion as De Michelis received his fourth stripe, marking his promotion to the rank of Captain.

De Michelis has progressed through Carnival’s ranks since 2014, gaining experience across the fleet before reaching this latest milestone.

“It was an honor to witness Staff Captain Jacopo De Michelis earn his fourth stripe and become Captain,” Duffy wrote on LinkedIn.

She described the promotion as well deserved and congratulated him on behalf of the Carnival team.
