A crew member was taken to hospital after falling ill aboard a cruise ship anchored in Navarino Bay near Pylos, Greece, on Saturday.

According to local media, the Greek Port Authority was notified shortly before noon that a 30-year-old Indonesian crew member required urgent medical attention. The man, who worked as a waiter, was safely transferred from the anchored cruise ship to shore with the assistance of a passenger boat.

An ambulance from Greece's National Emergency Aid Center met the crew member upon arrival and transported him to the Pylos Health Center for an initial medical assessment. He was later transferred to Kalamata General Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities have not released the name of the cruise ship, identifying it only as a Maltese-flagged vessel anchored in Navarino Bay.

The nature of the crew member's medical condition has not been disclosed, and no further updates on his condition have been provided.
