A Disney Dream crew member reported a suspected drink tampering incident while the cruise ship was docked in Vigo, Spain, prompting an investigation by Spanish authorities.

The alleged victim is Argentinian national who became ill while onboard and was initially treated by the ship's medical team before being transported to Fátima Hospital after the vessel arrived in Vigo.

The crew member reportedly told medical staff that she believed a substance had been placed in her bottle of water. According to Faro de Vigo, sources familiar with the case indicated the substance may have been chlorine, although this has not been officially confirmed through laboratory testing.

After receiving medical treatment and being discharged from the hospital, the crew member reported the case to the Spain's National Police. She also identified another crew member as the person she believes was responsible for the poisoning.

Spain's Civil Guard boarded the Disney Dream after being notified of the alleged incident and opened an investigation. Authorities are also expected to examine the contents of the water bottle to determine what substance, if any, was present.

At the time of publication, no arrests had been made. It also remains unclear whether the investigation will ultimately be led by the Civil Guard or the National Police, following the formal complaint filed by the alleged victim.

The Disney Dream was scheduled to depart Vigo on July 24, as part of a seven-night repositioning voyage from Barcelona to Southampton, with planned calls in Cartagena, Málaga, Vigo, and A Coruña.

The allegations remain under investigation, and no charges have been announced. Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the reported incident.
