P&O Cruises has sent an email to their customers informing them that the company will no longer charge gratuities or as they refer to discretionary daily service charges.

In many aspects, the so-called ship life is quite different from any land-based environment. Here are some challenges people working on cruise ships are experiencing on a daily basis. Some of them sound funny but this is the ship life reality.

A 46-year-old British woman was rescued after falling from the cruise ship Norwegian Star off the coast of Croatia, the country's coastguard reported. Croatian Coast Guard said the woman identified as Kay Longstaff was rescued 10 hours after falling into the Adriatic Sea some 45 nautical miles offshore - around 11.45 pm on Saturday.

This 4-year-old girl has had enough, and decided to take the matters into her hands after her father ignored her by talking on his cell phone. She kissed her dad’s phone bye-bye and throw it overboard. After watching the video many people approve of the little girls' reaction saying that the cell phones have taken over our lives and turned away our focus on what’s most important.

For the first time, the Portuguese capital will be host for the baptism of a new generation cruise ship, the Mein Schiff 2. The latest TUI Cruises vessel will be christened in Lisbon on February 9, 2019, the Port of Lisbon reported in a press release.

It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the death of our fellow crew member Ravi Singh Bisht. Ravi was part of the Carnival Cruise Line team since 2012, working in the Culinary Arts department. He sadly passed away onboard the cruise ship Carnival Horizon on August 11, 2018. Ravi leaves behind his family and his beautiful fiancée. They were engaged in July this year, just before Ravi joined the cruise ship for another contract.

Authorities in Puerto Rico are investigating the death of a man onboard the cruise ship Carnival Fascination. According to the police report, the man was identified as the 22-year-old Serbian national, Nikola Arnautovic. The young man who was part of Carnival Fascination crew was found hanged in his cabin on the Carnival Cruise Line cruise ship Fascination on Sunday at around  10.41 am (14.41 GMT) after the vessel docked at Pier 4 in San Juan.
