P&O Cruises’ latest flagship, Iona, departed on her maiden voyage from Southampton on Saturday, sailing a 7-night UK scenic cruise with no stops.

Today MSC Cruises newest ship MSC Seashore, will set sail on her very first voyage from the port of Barcelona.  MSC Seashore will depart Barcelona at around 6:30 pm with 1200 crew and about 3000 guests onboard. The ship will start her maiden voyage with a seven-night western Mediterranean itinerary including Marseille, Genoa, Naples, Messina and Valletta.

A floatplane crashed in southeast Alaska, on Thursday killing all six people on board, including five passengers sailing on the Holland America Line cruise ship ms Nieuw Amsterdam who took the sightsing tour in Ketchikan.

Royal Caribbean International announced the complete lineup of ships scheduled to set sail by spring 2022. Today August 3, Mein Schiff 1 celebrated the first arrival in Warnemunde with 1,254 guests on board, during her “Swedish Coast 4” voyage. At the helm is Captain Jan Fortun, who was already in the port of Warnemunde with the Mein Schiff 4 during the winter, preparing the ship for the upcoming restart. 

Just days before the final preparations of Carnival’s newest cruise ship Mardi Gras to set sail on the very first cruise, a tragedy struck the vessel leaving the crew deeply shaken by the death of a colleague. We are sad to report that a team member died of apparent suicide on the Mardi Gras.

North Wales Coastguard rescued a crew member today from the Disney Magic while the cruise ship was sailing the Irish Sea, reports Daily Post.  Coast Guard watchstanders received a call from the officers of Disney Magic, reporting that the crew member needed urgent medical attention and requested medical evacuation to a land-ba

The Germany-based cruise line AIDA Cruises announced the restart of voyages on Aidaluna. Starting September 5 AIDAluna will set sail from Kiel on three- and four-day cruises, becoming the seventh ship in the AIDA fleet to restart guest operations in 2021.

During the four-day voyage, AIDAluna will call at the Polish port of Gdynia after a sea day passing the island of Gotland, among others.

Two workers have lost their lives at the shipbreaking yards of Aliaga, Turkey, during the dismantling of the former Carnival cruise ship, Carnival Inspiration. The NGO Shipbreaking Platform in a press release reported that the fatal accident took place on July 12, when the workers were suddenly caught by flames in the engine room.
