Carnival Cruise Line Celebrates 35 Years at Port Canaveral

Carnival Cruise Line is marking 35 years of operations at Port Canaveral with a series of celebratory announcements that highlight the company’s deep community ties, ongoing expansion, and commitment to sustainability.

The cruise line donated a hybrid pickup truck to Keep Brevard Beautiful, a local nonprofit focused on environmental conservation, in celebration of World Ocean Day weekend. The gesture reflects Carnival’s growing focus on sustainability.

“Port Canaveral has been a cornerstone of Carnival’s success for 35 years,” said Carnival President Christine Duffy. “Our exciting growth continues with the opening of Celebration Key next month, our exclusive destination that will really be a game-changer for us and for our guests.”

Carnival currently homeports four ships year-round and one seasonally at Port Canaveral. The upcoming Carnival Festivale will expand the port’s offerings further when it debuts in 2027 with music-themed zones and the cruise line’s largest-ever water park.

Celebration Key, located on Grand Bahama, will welcome its first official visit from Carnival Vista and is poised to become a key stop for all Carnival sailings from Port Canaveral.

With more than 300 annual departures from the port, Carnival’s presence generates an estimated $450 million in economic impact for the region. Port Canaveral CEO Capt. John Murray praised the long-lasting partnership, calling it the port’s longest continuous cruise business relationship and a vital contributor to Central Florida’s economy.
