On April 5, 2017, the 114.000 tons cruise ship Costa Fascinosa will be transformed into Bollywood floating palace for Adel Sayan, and his beauty queen Sara Khan. This is the first time in the history of cruising one man to rent the entire cruise ship for a private event.

Virgin Voyages, the new cruise line founded by Sir Richard Branson will be hosting a steel cutting ceremony Live on Facebook for its first ever ship. Promising to change cruising forever, the first Virgin Voyages liner will be ready to set sail in 2020. The vessel will sail from Miami to the Caribbean, offering an unforgettable experience for the “young at heart,” including the Millennial travelers.

On a routine unannounced USPH inspection conducted by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Holland America Line cruise ship MS Eurodam received its 11th consecutive perfect score. The inspectors boarded Eurodam while the vessel was docked in its home port at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on January 14, 2017. After inspecting the key facilities and procedures onboard the CDC inspectors give perfect marks with 100 points.

The Oprah Magazine O, have announced an exclusive partnership with Holland America Line to share the adventure cruises to Alaska. The inaugural cruise is set to sail this July together with the Oprah Magazine editor at large Gayle King. Oprah will also join the cruise and additional cruises with O Magazine-inspired activities are scheduled aboard select HAL ships through 2018.

This year, Holland America Line will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of its award-winning private island, Half Moon Cay. For 20 years, this private island has been a favorite stop to almost every Holland America Line Caribbean voyages.

From the highest point of a cruise ship – the funnel, skier Anders Backe, performed extreme stunt. For the purposes of their movie Supervention 2, Anders and his friend, decided to build a ramp on top of the funnel and ski downhill. First try was a failure as Andres falls from the ramp and luckily ends on top of the highest deck.

The German Cruise Line Aida has announced their partnership with the American premium coffeehouse chain, Starbucks. The first coffeehouse was officially open yesterday, January 10, onboard AIDA latest cruise ship AidaPrima.
