TV Captain Meets Cruise Ship Captain on the Bridge

There were two familiar captains on the bridge of the cruise ship Mein Schiff 3 when German entertainer Florian Silbereisen paid a visit to Captain Jan F. Schubert during a special anniversary cruise.

TUI Cruises shared the meeting showing the ship’s captain alongside the actor who plays Captain Max Parger in the popular German television series “Das Traumschiff.” Silbereisen was aboard as a guest entertainer during a full-ship charter organized by Polster & Pohl Reisen.

For German television viewers, Silbereisen is a familiar face at sea. He made his debut as Captain Max Parger at Christmas in 2019, joining a long line of actors who have played captains in the ZDF series. The show follows passengers and crew on voyages to destinations around the world, combining travel scenery with personal stories aboard a cruise ship.

ZDF’s background information lists several vessels used for filming over the years, including Vistafjord, Astor, Berlin and Deutschland, with Amadea becoming the setting in 2015. His visit to Mein Schiff 3 brought that television connection to another cruise ship’s bridge.

Silbereisen also brought his musical talents aboard. TUI Cruises said he performed as a singer during the charter and described it as his first singing performance on a cruise ship. The company said the appearance was a success, adding another highlight to a voyage filled with live entertainment.

The sailing formed part of Polster & Pohl Reisen’s celebrations marking 30 years in business. The organizer said demand for its first anniversary cruise was so strong that almost all cabins sold within two weeks, prompting a second departure.

That second voyage sailed from Bremerhaven on September 20, returning on September 27, 2026. Its southern Norway itinerary included Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand and Oslo, with scenic cruising through the Oslofjord and time at sea between port visits.

The entertainment programme brought together several well-known German performers. Alongside Silbereisen’s solo show, guests could enjoy appearances by Semino Rossi, Ross Antony, Toni Krahl and Tom Pauls, as well as the Zwinger Trio. Anniversary activities also included a departure reception, a birthday cake celebration and a closing event.

With the entire ship chartered for Polster & Pohl guests, the voyage combined a Norwegian cruise with a programme built around the company’s anniversary.
