Silver Nova and Silver Moon Meet in Melbourne

Melbourne’s Station Pier welcomed two Silversea cruise ships Silver Nova and Silver Moon on November 30, arriving at the same time. This is the first time the two sister ships had meet together, and many visitors stopped by the pier to see them side by side.

The Port of Melbourne organized a series of community activities throughout the day to coincide with the arrivals. These included live music, small markets, street art, and family-friendly entertainment, which helped bring additional foot traffic to the pier. Visitors gathered along the West Finger Pier for a clear view of the two ships, with many taking photos as the vessels remained alongside.

As part of the day’s programming, Melbourne artist Tom Gerrard worked on a mural at the pier, while roaming musicians from Horns of Leroy provided live performances. Event organizers noted that the community turnout contributed to a positive atmosphere and thanked attendees for supporting the activation.

The double arrival reflects Silversea’s increased deployment in the region for the 2025/26 cruise season, during which the luxury line will operate three ships in Australian waters.

After their stop in Melbourne:

  • Silver Moon departed on a 16-day itinerary visiting South Australia and New Zealand.

  • Silver Nova set sail on a 12-night voyage to Tasmania before continuing to New Zealand.
