Cruise ships are more than floating resorts, they are places where crew members live for months at a time, forming strong bonds far from home. For many, the ship becomes not just a workplace, but a true home away from home where they work, grow, and even fall in love.
This truth came to life aboard the cruise ship Mein Schiff Relax, where TUI Cruises recently shared a video of an onboard wedding between two of their own, Staff Captain Conrad and Onboard Tour Manager Daniela.
The couple’s story began during the commissioning phase of TUI’s newest ship. What started as colleagues working side by side quickly blossomed into something deeper. Less than a year later, the pair stood together, exchanging vows before Captain Todd Burgman, who led the ceremony as permitted once all maritime marriage requirements were fulfilled.
The wedding ceremony took place on board Mein Schiff Relax in front of their parents and selected guests. After the ceremony and onboard festivities, the newlyweds set off on a well-deserved honeymoon.
For Conrad and Daniela, Mein Schiff Relax now carries an personal meaning. It’s the ship where they met, where their love grew, and where they became part of the start-up crew during an important chapter of their lives. After a memorable “get-to-know-you” trip to Mallorca and countless shared moments on board, Conrad proposed to Daniela this past summer, setting the course for the story that unfolded this week.
Even after their honeymoon, their journey together at sea is far from over. The couple will soon return to work, joining the start-up crew for the brand-new Mein Schiff Flow, continuing both their professional and personal adventure side by side.
We send our heartfelt congratulations to Staff Captain Conrad and Tour Manager Daniela. May their life together be filled with calm seas, fair winds, and endless happiness, wherever their shared voyage takes them.
