Royal Caribbean International is continuing its heartwarming onboard tradition with the introduction of a new “Chief Dog Officer” for its upcoming ship, Legend of the Seas.
The newest recruit, Skipper, a Golden Retriever born in early 2026, will join the ship for its debut season, bringing companionship and joy to both guests and crew.
The Chief Dog Officer program first launched on Icon Class ships and has quickly become a guest favorite. These friendly dogs serve as a comforting and fun presence onboard, especially for families traveling with children, creating a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at sea.
Skipper follows in the paw prints of previous canine ambassadors like Sailor and Rover, continuing a tradition designed to make cruising feel more personal and memorable. The program is run in partnership with the American Humane Society, ensuring the dogs receive proper care, training, and support.
Set to debut in Europe in summer 2026, Legend of the Seas will later sail Caribbean itineraries from Florida, offering guests not only cutting-edge features and destinations, but also a unique, furry crew member ready to steal the spotlight.
