Norwegian Cruise Line Sets Opening Date for Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that its new Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas will officially open on September 4, 2026, marking a major addition to the cruise line’s private island destination.

Guests sailing to Great Stirrup Cay on or after the opening date can now purchase waterpark day passes in advance and reserve private cabanas located near the park’s main attractions. The cabanas accommodate up to six guests and include waterpark admission.

Covering nearly six acres, Great Tides Waterpark will feature 19 waterslides and attractions for all ages. The centerpiece is the 170-foot Tidal Tower, home to several thrill rides, including the Breakwater Blasters water coasters. Other highlights include cliff-jumping attractions, racing slides, a four-person body slide, a dedicated children's splash zone, and an 800-foot adventure river.

The waterpark will also offer new dining options through three food trucks and a hidden Grotto Bar located beneath the slide complex.

The opening is part of Norwegian's ongoing investment in Great Stirrup Cay, which recently added the Great Life Lagoon, new tram transportation, family attractions, and the adults-only Vibe Shore Club.

The first guests to experience the new attraction will be sailing aboard the Norwegian Luna during a seven-day Caribbean cruise departing Miami on August 29, 2026. The voyage includes calls to Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay, where the waterpark will officially debut.
