Passengers onboard MSC Euribia have received a letter explaining what to do in case of an emergency while the ship remains docked in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, after cruise operations in the Persian Gulf were canceled due to regional tensions.
The instructions posted on March 3, 2026, were distributed to guests as a precaution while the ship continues its extended stay in port. According to the message from Captain Paolo Benini, Dubai’s port area is still considered secure, but additional safety procedures have been introduced to ensure everyone onboard is prepared if the situation changes. The letter was shared by MSC friends community.
Color Codes Explained to Guests
The letter informed guests about two color-coded announcements that may be broadcast through the ship’s public address system in case of an emergency.
If the announcement “Delta Tango – Blue Code” is made, it means a potential threat has been identified in the area near the ship. In that situation, crew members would begin clearing all open outside decks and guide guests to designated safe zones onboard. Passengers are asked to follow crew instructions quickly.
A second announcement, “Delta Tango – Red Code,” would signal an immediate emergency affecting the ship. If this code is announced, guests would need to follow crew instructions immediately. Depending on the situation, passengers could be directed to safe areas onboard or possibly ashore. Guests are also encouraged to remain calm and assist others if needed.

Precaution During Extended Stay
The message emphasized that the letter was not issued because of a change in the ship’s risk assessment, but rather as a precaution while the vessel remains in port longer than expected.
Captain Benini reassured guests that the crew is fully trained and prepared to respond if necessary and that the ship continues to closely monitor the situation in coordination with relevant authorities.
MSC Euribia has remained in Dubai after cancellations to cruise operations due to the current security situation in the region.
