AIDA Cruises veteran Thomas Scharfenberg will serve as Hotel Director aboard AIDAsol during the ship’s 2026–2027 world cruise.

The 126-day voyage is scheduled to begin on October 18, taking guests and crew through numerous countries and across several continents.

Scharfenberg brings more than 15 years of experience as a Hotel Director and General Manager with AIDA Cruises. During the voyage, he and his team will oversee the ship’s hotel operations and help shape the onboard experience for guests.

A world cruise presents unique operational demands because the same guests and crew spend several months together at sea. The extended itinerary will include major holidays, destination highlights and a New Year’s Eve celebration in Sydney.

Over the course of the journey, the ship is expected to develop a close onboard community as guests and crew share 126 days of travel and experiences.

With his extensive background at AIDA Cruises, Scharfenberg will take on one of the most important leadership positions aboard AIDAsol during this special journey around the world.
