Carnival Breeze sustained minor exterior damage while docking in Cozumel, Mexico, on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Passengers aboard Carnival Jubilee, which was docked nearby, photographed marks and a small indentation on the lower section of the ship’s hull, close to the waterline. Witnesses said Carnival Breeze made contact with the pier while maneuvering into position.

Images shared online show scraped paint and localized damage to the side of the vessel. One passenger report described a small hole, but the extent of the damage has not been officially confirmed by Carnival Cruise Line.

Cozumel port authorities inspected the pier following the incident and found no significant damage. Repairs to Carnival Breeze reportedly began shortly afterward, including work from inside the affected area and cosmetic repairs to the exterior.

No injuries were reported, and some guests aboard Carnival Breeze said they did not feel the contact when it happened.

The ship is currently operating a five-night Western Caribbean cruise that departed Galveston, Texas, on August 29. After visiting Cozumel, Carnival Breeze is scheduled to call at Progreso on September 1 before returning to Galveston on September 3.

Weather observations indicated calm conditions and light winds at the time, suggesting strong winds were unlikely to have played a major role.

There have been no reports of operational disruption, and the ship is expected to continue its voyage as scheduled.
