AIDAprima Entertainment Manager Benny Güttler has ended his current assignment earlier than planned after suffering a knee injury during a farewell show onboard.

He injured his knee while giving a high-energy performance during the final show of the ship’s previous voyage, reports Schiffe und Kreuzfahrten. He later told followers through his Instagram story that he was doing well but would need to rest at home with his leg elevated.

He left AIDAprima when the ship arrived in Hamburg on August 24. His assignment was originally scheduled to continue until October 9, 2026.

AIDA Cruises is now expected to arrange a replacement as soon as possible. Until a new entertainment manager joins, other members of the onboard entertainment team will likely share his duties and keep the scheduled program running.

The entertainment manager plays a major role onboard AIDA ships, overseeing the full entertainment program and hosting the nightly prime-time show. This also makes the person holding the position one of the most familiar faces to guests during a cruise.

According to the latest information, Güttler’s next scheduled assignment is due to begin on November 20, 2026, when he is expected to join AIDAstella in Cape Town, South Africa. His return will depend on how quickly he recovers from the injury.

AIDAprima is currently operating a series of ten- and eleven-day Norwegian cruises from Hamburg, visiting destinations including Ålesund, Bergen, Eidfjord, Flåm, Geiranger, Stavanger and Trondheim.
