NCL crew get COVID-19 vaccines at Port of Marseilles

Oct 17, 2021

Unvaccinated crew members on three NCL ships (Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Spirit, and Norwegian Jewel), currently docked at the port of Marseilles today received the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccination was onboard the cruise ship Norwegian Pearl which arrived at the pier 8, yesterday.

Norwegian Cruise Line requires all crew on board to be fully vaccinated before the ships resume cruises. Many of the crew on these three ships are already vaccinated at home, however, the crew who were not able to receive the approved vaccine at home will be fully vaccinated on board, at no cost. The company will continue the vaccination process on additional ships as they gradually return to service.

Norwegian Pearl will stay in Marseille until December 5th, for a 54 day wet/dry dock. During this period strict safety protocols will be in place in order to prevent mixing among the crew and contractors and creating some form of a safety bubble.

According to our source contractors working on the refurbishment of Norwegian Pearl will be accommodated onboard the Norwegian Spirit.

After completing dry-dock, Norwegian Peral will resume operation from Miami starting a series of Panama Canal cruises with stops in Cartagena, Colombia - Colon, Panama - Puerto Lion, Costa Rica, Roatan, Honduras, Harvest Caye - Costa Maya, Mexico.

Norwegian Jewel will set sail to the Caribbean, resuming cruise operations from Port Miami.
