Harmony of the Seas responded to an SOS emergency call from the US Coast Guard as a sailboat was in need of an assistance. The captain of the world’s largest cruise ship Gus Andersson, divert the course and headed north to take part in the search and rescue operation as the weather was getting windier. When the cruise ship reached the GPS coordinates provided by the US Coast Guard, speed boat with food and fuel was sent to the sailboat in need. Luckily everyone on the boat was fine and they didn’t need any medical assistance, and the emergency call was because the boat run out of fuel. The friendly crew on board Harmony of the Seas delivered the fuel plus few pizzas, compliments of Royal Caribbean.

Captain Gus Andersson updated all guests onboard thru the loudspeaker saying “We have safely handed over diesel fuel to the vessel that was in need of it. They didn’t require any medical assistance and also they didn’t request any food or blankets. However, there are a few things in life that are such appreciated as a couple of pizzas when you are in the middle of the ocean. So we threw it a few for them as a good measure as well.”

Bellow is a video of Captain Gus Andersson announcement.

Harmony of the Seas was sailing from Nassau to its next port of call St. Thomas when they received the emergency call.
