Crew Member Medically Evacuated From Cruise Ship Off The Dorset Coast But It Wasn’t Because of Covid-19

A 43-year-old crew member of the cruise ship Marella Discovery was medically evacuated on Saturday night while the vessel was anchored in Weymouth Bay on England's south coast. The crew member, whose name was not released, fell ill with suspected meningitis, reports Weymouth RNLI lifeboat station.

Princess cancels all cruises through March plus U.S. cruises longer than 7 days to November 2021

Princess Cruises announced today that the company is canceling voyages on all 15 ships in the fleet through March 31, 2021. In a press release, the company said the reason for extending its pause in global operations is to allow more time for the preparation needed for completing required activities by the CDC "Framework for Conditional Sailing Order" prior to sailing and taking into consideration the temporary seven-day cruises cap on itineraries that call at a U.S. port. 

Holland America Line to start moving six ships for resumption of cruising in the U.S.A.

Holland America Line is getting ready for a big comeback in the United States. In a letter sent to the employees, Holland America Line President Gus Antorcha said that after CDC issued a framework for conditional sailing, which allows eventual resumption of cruising, the company will deploy six ships in the U.S. waters in the coming weeks.

The cruise ship Aegean Majesty (former Holland America Line - MS Veendam) broke her mooring lines during strong overnight winds in the port of Corinth Greece, according to a video posted online by the Korinthostv. Port Authorities said that the ship broke free on November 7, at around 4:30 a.m. due to strong winds, and was grounded on a sandbar 50 meters away from the port.

Mein Schiff 6 Cruises Canceled After Greece Imposes Lockdown

TUI Cruises announced today that the Mein Schiff 6 voyages from Greece have been canceled. The decision comes after the Greek government ordered a state lockdown with curfews for a period of three weeks starting November 6th. TUI Cruises was able to secure a special permit for one more cruise starting November 8th, 2020, however, the upcoming voyage will be only a panoramic sailing.
