Filipino Crew Member Medevaced from Celebrity Infinity

Celebrity Infinity crew member was airlifted on Friday after suffering a heart attack on board while the vessel was sailing to Puerto Williams, Chile. Ship’s captain notified the authorities and requested emergency medical evacuation. 

Radio contact was made at 7:30 in the morning in order to inform the authorities about the medical condition of a crew member identified as Teddy Geneta, 46 years old from the Philippines. Specialized Coastguard team of “Prefectura Naval Argentina” emergency services responded to the scene some 77 nautical miles from Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut). The rescue crew helicopter PA-42 landed on top of Celebrity Infinity helipad, where the crew member was transferred. Once on board, the rescue team gave him first aid and transferred him to the port of Comodoro Rivadavia, from where he was taken to the Regional Hospital.

Celebrity Infinity is currently on a 14 Night Argentina & Chile Voyage with 942 crew and 2,122 passengers on board. Prefectura Naval Argentina rescue crew released the following video of the actual medical evacuation.
